New Milford, CT Film Screening: Feb 26
Meet the director, ask questions about John Brown’s place in history, or if he invented rock and roll
We are happy to announce our first screening in New Milford, CT! On Thursday, Feb 26, we will screen His Truth is Marching On at the New Milford Public Library as part of their Black History Month programming.
The film is a quick look at American music history from 1619 to hip-hop, told through the John Brown song. Many Americans know the “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” but few know the song’s roots are in equality.
The film evolved from a community art project launched to promote a kid from Connecticut who’s passion for equality is unquestioned. more than 50 CT musicians participated in the recording project, as well as some from out of state.
